Yes. Harper School of Real Estate is approved to provide Florida real estate education courses in accordance with Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) requirements. Our school provides instruction designed to prepare students for the Florida real estate licensing process.

In order to become a sales associate you must meet the following requirements:

• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
• United States Social Security Number:
• Education: Must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Pre-license education: Prior to sitting for the state exam you must show proof of course completion of Florida approved 63 hour pre-license education for sales associates. The course is good for two (2) years from the date of completion. An expired course will not be accepted at the exam site and you will not be able to sit for your exam without proof of a valid course completion slip. The course is not required at the time of application submission. You may submit application for state exam approval prior to taking the pre-license education. See the list of approved providers.
• After passing Classroom final exam, you must take the state exam. State Examinations: The State examination is given by Pearson Vue. To Learn more visit their website to find a location near you to set up your exam once the application has been approved by the DBPR. The Candidate Information Booklet is a useful source to help guide you through the examination process. The state testing fee is currently $36.75
• Licensing Fee: The fee is $83.75 which can be paid either by using our Online Services or by personal check. This breaks down to $14.75 non-refundable application fee; $64 license fee; $5.00 unlicensed activity fee. You can pay for your fees prior to taking your State exam.
• Fingerprints: An applicant must have a background check as part of the licensing process. To learn more about fingerprinting, please visit our fingerprint FAQs. Prices vary according to vendor. 

Find a home for your license and complete Application: Complete the Application for Sales Associate License (DBPR RE 1) by clicking on "Apply for a License" from the department's home page. The application can be completed using "Online Services" or using a "Printable Application".

After successfully completing the 63-Hour Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Pre-License Course, students should plan for additional costs associated with the state licensing process. Typical expenses include: Florida DBPR Sales Associate Application Fee: Approximately $62.75. Electronic Fingerprinting/Background Check: The fee varies by approved Livescan provider. Florida Real Estate Sales Associate State Examination: The Pearson VUE examination fee is currently $36.75. Students should generally budget approximately $150–$200 in additional licensing expenses, depending primarily on the fingerprinting provider selected. These expenses are separate from tuition paid to Harper School of Real Estate and do not include optional expenses such as REALTOR® association dues, MLS fees, brokerage fees, or other costs that may arise after becoming licensed. Fees are subject to change. Students should verify current fees with DBPR and Pearson VUE before submitting payment.

Your course fee includes the instruction and course materials provided by Harper School of Real Estate for the 63-Hour Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Pre-License Course, including: Instructor-led course instruction and Required course Textbook, when included with your course enrollment Classroom or online instructional materials End-of-course examination Students should have basic note-taking supplies available, including pens, pencils, paper, highlighters, or a notebook. The course fee does not include fees charged separately by the State of Florida, DBPR, fingerprinting providers, Pearson VUE, real estate brokerages, REALTOR® associations, or MLS organizations.

The 63-Hour Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Pre-License Course is the required pre-licensing education for most individuals seeking a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate license. Important course requirements include: Students must complete the required course instruction. A classroom hour is defined as 50 minutes of instruction. Students must earn a minimum score of 70% on the end-of-course examination to successfully complete the course. A student who does not pass the end-of-course examination must wait at least 30 days before retesting. Within one year of the original end-of-course examination, a student may retest a maximum of one time. If the student does not pass the permitted retake, the course must be repeated before another end-of-course examination may be taken. Students are strongly encouraged to attend every scheduled class, participate fully, study the course materials, and prepare carefully for both the end-of-course examination and the Florida state licensing examination.

Attendance is important because Florida requires students to complete the required instructional hours before becoming eligible to complete the course. Students should make every effort to attend all scheduled class sessions. If you know that you will miss class, contact Harper School of Real Estate as soon as possible so we can explain the applicable attendance and make-up requirements. Florida rules provide limited provisions for make-up classes related to student or family illness. Any required make-up instruction must cover the course material that was missed. Students should not assume that excessive absences can automatically be made up. Please contact Harper School of Real Estate promptly if an attendance issue arises.

If you do not earn the required 70% passing score on your first end-of-course examination, Florida rules require you to wait at least 30 days before retesting. You may retake the end-of-course examination one time within one year of your original examination. A different version of the examination will be administered. If you do not successfully pass the permitted retake, you must repeat the pre-license course before becoming eligible to take the end-of-course examination again. Harper School of Real Estate encourages students to use the waiting period to review course material, identify areas that need additional study, and prepare thoroughly for the retake.

Florida Real Estate Sales Associate applicants must complete the required background screening using an approved electronic fingerprinting provider. You may select any Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)-approved Livescan Service Provider that is authorized to submit fingerprints to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. When scheduling your fingerprinting appointment, provide the following ORI number: Florida Real Estate Sales and Brokers ORI: FL920010Z The fingerprinting provider will charge its own fee, so prices may vary. It is very important to provide the correct ORI number. An incorrect ORI number may prevent DBPR from receiving your fingerprint results. Students should retain their fingerprinting receipt for their records.

After successfully completing the 63-Hour Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Pre-License Course, your course completion is valid for two years from the date you complete the course. You must pass the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate State Examination while your qualifying pre-license education remains valid. Because your course completion and your DBPR examination eligibility may have separate expiration dates, students should not wait until the end of the two-year period to schedule the state examination. Harper School of Real Estate recommends completing the licensing process as soon as possible after finishing the course while the information is still fresh.

You may submit your Florida Real Estate Sales Associate license application before completing the 63-Hour Pre-License Course. Applying early can help reduce delays because DBPR must review and approve your application before you can schedule the Florida state licensing examination. Your application process generally includes: Completing the DBPR RE 1 Sales Associate Application Paying the required application fee Completing electronic fingerprinting through an approved Livescan provider Receiving approval to sit for the state examination Completing the required pre-license education before taking the examination You must provide proof of valid course completion when required for the state examination. Harper School of Real Estate encourages students to begin the DBPR application and fingerprinting process early rather than waiting until the end of the course.

Begin by submitting the Florida DBPR RE 1 Sales Associate Application. You may apply through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's online licensing system or use the printable RE 1 application. As part of the application process, you must: Meet the age, education, and Social Security number requirements Submit the required application and fee Complete electronic fingerprinting Complete the required 63-Hour Florida Sales Associate Pre-License Course, unless legally exempt Receive examination authorization from DBPR After your application is approved and you become eligible for examination, you may schedule your Florida Real Estate Sales Associate State Examination with Pearson VUE. Harper School of Real Estate recommends keeping copies of your application confirmation, fingerprinting receipt, course completion documentation, and examination information for your records.

Florida does not impose a fixed lifetime limit on the number of times you may attempt the Sales Associate state examination. However, you must remain eligible to test. Your required pre-license education is valid for two years from the course completion date, and your examination authorization may also have an expiration date. If you do not pass the examination, you may schedule another attempt through Pearson VUE as long as you remain eligible. Each examination attempt requires a separate examination fee. Students should always verify their current examination eligibility and expiration dates before scheduling another attempt.

If you do not pass the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate State Examination, you may schedule another examination attempt through Pearson VUE as long as your eligibility remains valid. Before retesting: Review your examination score report to identify areas that need additional study. Confirm that your pre-license education and examination authorization have not expired. Schedule a new examination appointment with Pearson VUE. Pay the applicable examination fee for the new attempt. Harper School of Real Estate encourages students to use each examination result as a study guide. Review your weaker subject areas, return to your course materials, and prepare carefully before your next attempt.

After you pass the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate State Examination, your passing examination result is transmitted to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Once all licensing requirements have been satisfied, DBPR will issue your Florida Real Estate Sales Associate license. A newly issued Sales Associate license may initially be placed in inactive status unless you have been registered with an employing Florida real estate broker. You may verify your license status through the DBPR online license search after your license has been issued.

Congratulations! After passing the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate State Examination and receiving your license number, you must be registered with a Florida-licensed real estate broker before performing real estate services that require an active license. There are two primary ways to activate your license: Broker Online Account: Your employing broker may add you to the brokerage through the broker's DBPR online account. DBPR Form RE 11: You and your employing broker may complete the appropriate RE 11 – Become Active form. The form must be signed by the employing broker. Until DBPR records your license as Current/Active under an employing broker, you should not perform services that require an active Florida real estate license. Harper School of Real Estate recommends researching and interviewing brokerages before taking your state exam so you can choose a brokerage that supports your career goals.

After completing your first renewal requirements, Florida real estate licensees generally must complete 14 hours of Florida Real Estate Commission-approved continuing education during each subsequent renewal period. For licenses expiring September 30, 2026, or later, the 14-hour requirement consists of: 3 hours of Core Law 3 hours of Ethics and Business Practices 8 hours of specialty education These continuing education requirements apply after the initial post-licensing requirement has been completed. Before the first renewal: Sales Associates generally complete 45 hours of post-licensing education. Brokers and Broker Associates generally complete 60 hours of post-licensing education. Education requirements are separate from applicable license renewal fees.

A Florida real estate licensee is an individual who has met Florida's licensing requirements and holds a Sales Associate, Broker Associate, or Broker license. A REALTOR® is a real estate professional who is also a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and is authorized to use the REALTOR® trademark. Not every licensed real estate professional is a REALTOR®. REALTOR® members agree to follow the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics in addition to complying with applicable Florida real estate laws and regulations. Therefore: All REALTORS® who practice licensed real estate are licensees, but not all real estate licensees are REALTORS®

Generally, No. Florida Broker applicants must meet specific real estate experience requirements before qualifying for a Broker license. For most applicants, this means first obtaining a Sales Associate license, gaining the required qualifying real estate experience, completing the required Broker pre-license education, and then meeting the remaining Broker licensing requirements. Different requirements may apply to certain applicants with qualifying out-of-state experience or other recognized credentials.

To qualify for a Florida Real Estate Broker license, applicants generally must:

• Meet Florida's age, education, and Social Security number requirements.
• Satisfy the required qualifying real estate experience.
• Successfully complete the Florida-approved 72-Hour Broker Pre-License Course, unless legally exempt.
• Submit the appropriate Florida Broker license application and required fee.
• Complete the required electronic fingerprinting.
• Receive authorization to take the Florida Real Estate Broker Examination.
• Pass the Florida Real Estate Broker Examination with a score of at least 75.
• Activate the Broker license if you intend to practice immediately.

Florida generally requires qualifying real estate experience during the five-year period preceding the Broker application. Applicants should review DBPR's current Broker licensing requirements carefully because qualifying experience requirements may vary depending on the applicant's licensing history.

The 72-Hour Broker Pre-License Course is generally valid for two years from the date of completion.
